Former Mayor of the City of Sierra Madre

John Harabedian (39) was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, and from 2012 to 2020 was a Councilmember and two-time Mayor of the City of Sierra Madre.  In 2020 he ran for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 5, on a platform that included providing additional support and services for our immigrant and undocumented communities.  As a law student, John worked in Stanford Law School’s Immigrant’s Rights Clinic representing clients in removal proceedings, and since then has devoted a substantial amount of his time assisting undocumented individuals with various legal services on a pro bono basis.  John started his legal career as a law clerk for a federal district court judge, and then practiced as a litigator at the international law firm Latham & Watkins LLP.  After serving as a Deputy District Attorney in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, he joined Omni Bridgeway as an Associate Investment Manager and Legal Counsel, where he currently oversees various legal and financial issues related to Omni’s investment portfolio.

John currently lives in Pasadena with his wife Young-Gi and their three sons Johnny (6), Joshua (2), and Joseph (3 months). In his rare free time, he enjoys volunteering for various causes and organizations, including the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP), where he serves as the Vice Chair for Region 3 of LACDP.
