Q: HOW IS IT GOING TO WORK THIS YEAR IN LIGHT OF COVID-19?
A: This year’s gala will be held live streaming on YouTube. A link to the event will be sent to you by October 23rd.
WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO SEE ME ON A SCREEN?
No. Your hair does not need to be done to participate in the Gala this year! There will be a live chat feature so you can shout out to friends and say hello!
CAN I WATCH ON MY PHONE?
Yes! You will be able to watch and bid on auction items (see below) on your phone, tablet, or computer.
HOW CAN I BEST SUPPORT THIS IRC FUNDRAISER?
If you bought a ticket for $100 last year, do that again! If you were a sponsor at a higher level, we hope you will do that, too!
What is the fundraising goal this year?
$150,000! This is our most important fundraiser of the year! We are counting on you to help us meet our fundraising goal during this crucial time of uncertainty for our immigrant neighbors.
Is there a silent auction? When does it open and close?
Yes! We are using a NEW platform called Give Smart. As a gala guest, you’ll be able to log on to Give Smart to bid on amazing items. The auction will open a week before the Gala and close at the end of the live program on October 24th.
Do I have to “register” for the event since it’s not in person?
Yes! When you register through Give Smart, you can make your gift, receive your tax letter, receive a link to the auction and get news that you won’t want to miss. If you need help, we have support for you!
What if I want to write a check and mail in my gift “old school?”
You can! We will hand register you for the Gala so you don’t miss out on anything!
Can I share the Gala information with others?
YES! In fact, please do invite your friends to log on to Give Smart to participate at any level and join us at the Gala on October 24th. Who did you sit with last year? Reach out to them to (virtually) join you again this year.
Will sponsors and donors be acknowledged somewhere? Is my gift tax deductible?
YES & YES! The 2020 Gala is featuring sponsors below! Your name and/or company logo (not the amount you give) will appear there unless you ask us not to! And yes, your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
