Pro Bono Attorney

Carolyn Murphy received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Stanford Law School where she was one of only a handful of women in a sea of male students in her class. She did what few women were doing at that time — attain a law degree, serve as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill, and pursue a career in a male-dominated field. Carolyn went on to a successful and satisfying legal career for over 35 years. She volunteered at HomeBoy Industries as a legal consultant, helping the organization advance their legal department and participating in pro bono cases for former gang members and their families. Carolyn has also been a leader in the community, serving as the Director of the Women’s Legal Center of San Diego, Chairman of California Common Cause, and is currently on the board of the Pasadena Audubon Society.
